Keroncong Untuk Ana

Have you ever realized that when an artist dies, like MJ did last week, he practically gets worshipped like crazy for a couple of weeks?

In Malaysia, artists like P.Ramlee and Sudirman Hj Arshad gets the same treatment too. May god bless them. I can't help but wonder, if this one artist is gone, how do we can ever appreciate his works and creations.

The one artist i really respect and admire in Malaysia is sifu M. Nasir. Holy shit just look at all his work. I think he is better than Sudirman and P.Ramlee combined.

His works are all pure poetry and deep in symbolism and social comments about things happening in the world. I dont know that much about music but i really can appreciate his works. They way he infused ethnic rhythm with contemporary beats is just mind blowing. No one can fuse these elements and make it listenable towards the younger audience. Only he can (i think).

Just try this once:
Late at night when you are alone, open up youtube and search 'KepadaMu Kekasih". its a clip of him singing during Konsert Akar. Hear out the words, the lyrics. Feel them. Digest them. Get youself be lost in it. Think of how small we are in front of God. We are nothing. Hear out the flute part. Feel the shivers run up your spine. Then cry if u feel up to it. Repent. Thats some pure magic going on there. God bless.
