i just finished this movie and i'm just blown away by the sheer rawness of the violence depicted. it's bloody and in your face. kind of made up for the disappointment of watching Tron last week.
it's about a pawn shop owner who lives quietly alone. then a girl who is the daughter of a drug addict befriends him out of loneliness. both of them formed a friendship that's hard to describe, but still cute haha. then one day her mother stole some drugs from some gangster and then shit happens. she and her mother got abducted, her mother killed and her organs were sold in the black market. this pawn shop guy went crazy mad bcause they took his only friend. and then u can guess what happens next. it's almost the same movie like Man on Fire but with an asian twist.
but what i really like about this movie is the sheer visceral rawness of everything. it's like the scenes happen live, directly in front of you. minimal editing. the last knife scene. crazy.
