i've finally got myself a macbook pro, although it's the 13" model, by no means its the baseline one. this one is already upgraded with Kingston HyperX SSD 240gb and 8gb of ram. the transfer and write speed is insane. boot time is less than 10 secs(!) i and shutdown is almost instant.
in a way my macbook pro has the same characteristics of macbook air's boot up and shutdown.
i've tested a few files, and run a deepavali setup sketchup model, which got imported meshes from 3ds max, and it seems to run a little bit faster than my i5 workstation at the office. though the workstation is severely crippled by the 32 bit os (who the fuck configured the system anyway, putting 8gb or ram and installing 32 bit windows on it). still, it's quite good enough for me for a laptop to be rivaling a workstation.
the trackpad is nice for websurfing, the multi-touch gestures work flawlessly and i don't think i will be using windows anymore if given the choice. OS X is just better in every aspect.
