hi blogs,
i'm finding it hard to fall asleep tonite, most probably because i've spent the whole day sleeping. lot's of things are running through my mind as i lay down.
the most vivid memory from last week was that of a little boy i saw late thursday or friday. i was driving back from setapak towards melawati, and as i was entering a junction, i saw a little boy wearing a songkok with a sling bag walking alone in the dark. he was just about to cross the road. i stopped my car for a while after i went past him just to see what was he doing. he was all alone, that time it was about 11.30pm. It was really not safe for a little boy like that wandering around alone at night.
As i pondered what to do, lots of emotion ran came streaming down. kesian sgt tgk dia. i guess from the looks of him, he is one of the kids from the sort of yayasan house or something, which takes care of orphans and give them education, and in turn make them work selling calendars and small tid bids. i'm sure you've met them outside of banks or petrol stations.
to be honest, i really don't like these kind of orphanage or yayasan, whatever they call themselves. it's straight out wrong. these kids are orphans, why are you forcing them to work, some till late at night like that. and yet you claim to be taking care of them. fuck this shit. i'm sure the head honcho found out some loopholes in the law regarding these kind of stuff, but come on, it's almost bordering on child slavery.
why are the people with power not doing something about this. i'm damn sure these kids are not doing the work they are doing right now out of choice.
here's something i've found from the net regarding these things
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

well En Muslim Ab. Karim, i'm sure by forcing these kids to work up till 11.30pm is a good way of teaching them how to learn a thing or two about business.
fuck you la.
what a stupid pathetic excuse. kids are not supposed to work till late at night. begging for money. what will this do to their mental state, their self worth, begging for people to give them money or buy things that aren't actually worth buying.
i remember giving money to a kid, and told him to spend it all on food. go buy something. don't give it to your 'boss'.
go set up a stall or something for these kids to do business, if you are really intent and sincere on teaching them a bit about business. begging for money at banks and petrol station is not the right way.
